More About Invisalign

Invisalign works by adjusting the teeth using mild applied pressure. But unlike metal braces, you don’t have to give up on popcorn, candy, gum, or any of your favorite foods.

Invisalign in Frisco is also more comfortable when compared to traditional braces. There are no wires that have to be adjusted or other annoyances. Instead, you’ll have to wear thin, transparent aligners that gently adjust crowded and crooked teeth.

Invisalign aligners are made out of durable, medical-grade plastic. The aligners are almost undetectable and can be popped in and out easily. This virtually eliminates any interference in your daily life, whether you’re at work or at home.

Every few weeks, you’ll receive a new set of aligners that will shift your teeth ever so slightly. By the end of the treatment, your teeth will be exactly where they should be!

How Does Invisalign Work?

Achieving a straighter smile with Invisalign is easier than you may think!

In just four easy steps, you’ll be on your way to the smile of your dreams.

  • In-office consultation. You’ll meet with one of the dentists at Frisco Dental Care for a thorough examination and to discuss your alignment goals. The dentist will determine if Invisalign can provide the results they want.
  • Customized treatment plan. A 3D scanner is used to take impressions of your teeth. Before and after images will be created to show the dramatic results that Invisalign can offer.
  • Impressions are sent off to the lab and customized aligners are made. You’ll wear each aligner for two weeks and then move to the next ones to slowly shift the teeth into place.
  • Smile with confidence! After wearing your Invisalign aligners as directed, you’ll have the straight, beautiful smile that you’ve always wanted. In just a matter of months, you can finally smile with total confidence.

How Long Does Invisalign Take?

Everyone’s Invisalign journey is different.

Most patients achieve a straighter smile within 6-18 months. To get the best results, it’s important to wear your aligners as much as possible, only removing them to eat, drink, and brush your teeth.

Does Invisalign Hurt?

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign treatment isn’t painful.

However, most patients do experience mild pressure during the initial stages of treatment and after switching to new aligners. This is completely normal, and discomfort can be treated by taking over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications or by drinking cold water.

Do I Have to Wear a Retainer After Finishing Invisalign Treatment?

Yes. The fact is that over time, the teeth naturally shift.

Wearing a retainer once you have completed your treatment helps you maintain your results so that your smile stays straight over the years.
